I am running the New York Marathon to raise money for a wonderful foundation - QUALITAS OF LIFE.
My mom was an OB nurse for nearly 50 years, and when she turned 50, she saw a need in her community. She was unable to communicate with many of her patients because she did not speak Spanish. Child birth is scary when the nurses and doctors can communicate with you. Imagine if no one could tell you what was happening. So, my mom learned Spanish and became a go to nurse in the hospital when others needed a translator.
